MEET
DAVID SILVERSTEIN:
David Silverstein is a husband, father, grandfather, and respected business and civic leader who has called Mountain Brook home for decades. He and his wife Susan raised their five children here, and today, eleven of their fourteen grandchildren attend—or will attend—Mountain Brook City Schools. For David, this city isn’t just where he lives. It’s where his family’s story continues to grow.
With decades of leadership in law and commercial development, David has a proven ability to unite people and deliver results. Among his accomplishments are transformative real estate developments such as The Summit Birmingham, the historic Pizitz Building, and Cahaba Village, which have had lasting economic and community impact. Beyond his professional work, David has demonstrated a deep commitment to civic service, having served on the local boards of the American Heart Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He currently serves on the boards of the Alabama Holocaust Education Center and Leadership Alabama, and is a member of the UAB St. Vincent’s Advisory Board. David is widely respected for his ability to tackle complex challenges with clarity, integrity, and a focus on outcomes.
Now, David is running for Mountain Brook City Council because he believes in thoughtful, forward-looking leadership that listens to residents, respects our traditions, and prepares wisely for the future. With a steady hand and a deep love for this community, he’s ready to give back—and help keep Mountain Brook thriving for generations to come.
